We celebrate the Lord’s Supper on the first Sunday of each month. We are all guests at this feast which Christ prepares, and everyone who believes and trusts in Jesus as Lord and Savior is welcome.

Beginning in June 2006, Central Presbyterian Church’s Second Sunday Jazz worship service has attracted a large and devoted following. The services are held at 5:00 p.m. on the second Sunday of each month in the church parlor. Worship leadership is provided by the Reverend Janet Ruark, along with the Central Jazz Quintet, led from the piano by Central’s own Jan McDaniel. The group features trumpeter Michael Anderson, a member of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, and vocalist Rachel Barnard – both of these performers are also faculty members of the Bass School of Music at Oklahoma City University. Clinton Trench on bass and Tim Lykins on drums complete the quintet.
The service lasts a little less than an hour and includes group singing, prayer, scripture reading, and – naturally – lots of jazz. A time of coffee and fellowship follows each service.

Advent Music
The Chancel Choir will be joined by guest soloists and a chamber orchestra for the morning worship service of Sunday, December 9, at 11:00 a.m. The centerpiece of the choral presentation will be a performance of J. S. Bach’s magnificent Cantata No. 122, Das neugeborne Kindelein (The Newborn Child). Composed in 1724, the cantata is based upon a late-sixteenth-century chorale tune. Central’s December 9 service will feature Courtney Kalbacker, soprano; Catherine McDaniel, mezzo-soprano; Ian Gibb, tenor; and David Robinson, baritone. The orchestra will include Oklahoma City Philharmonic associate concertmaster John Arnold and organist Glenda Robinson. In addition to the Bach cantata, the Chancel Choir, soloists, and orchestra will be performing other Advent selections during the service.
